How to remove Front Cover Seal on 2005 Ford explorer?

Removal & Installation

4.6L Engine

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
2. Remove or disconnect the following:
   
   
   Crankshaft pulley
   

   Front oil seal with a puller
   

To install:

1. Lubricate the front cover and the front oil seal inner lip with clean engine oil.
2. Use a seal driver to install the front oil seal into the engine front cover.
3. Install the crankshaft pulley.
