How to Replace Radiator on Dodge Stratus and Chrysler Sebring?

The procedure to replace radiator.
Please Note that this Procedure Covers all U.S. and Canadian models of the Chrysler/Dodge Avenger, Chrysler Sebring Coupe and Dodge Stratus/ Stratus Coupe models for Year 1999 to 2005.

The Details are provided for 2.0L Engine, 2.4L Engine and  2.5L And 3.0L Engines.

The Procedure is as follows:--

Radiator replacing:---

1. Disconnect battery negative cable from remote negative terminal on shock tower and properly isolate to prevent accidental reconnection.
2. Remove air inlet resonator.
   
   CAUTION

   Do not perform cooling system service while the coolant is hot and under pressure. Serious burns can occur.
3. Drain cooling system
4. Remove or disconnect the following:
   
   WARNING

   Avoid bending the condenser inlet tube. Care should be taken not to damage radiator or condenser cooling fins or water tubes during removal.
   
   
   
   NOTE

   It is not necessary to discharge the air conditioning system to remove radiator
   
   
   
   
   Upper radiator crossmember

   Hose clamps and hoses from the radiator.

   Fan wiring connector.

   Fan module.

   Automatic transmission hoses from cooler and plug.

   Screw attaching support bracket for external transmission oil cooler lines to left side of radiator, if equipped.

   Engine block heater wire, if equipped
   
   
   
   
   Screw attaching support bracket for air conditioning lines from right side of radiator.

   Support bracket.

   Air conditioning condenser attaching screws located at the front of the radiator, if equipped.
5. Radiator can now be lifted free from engine compartment. Care should be taken not to damage radiator cooling fins or water tubes during removal.

To install:

1. Slide radiator and fan module down into position, seat the radiator assembly lower rubber isolators in the mount holes provided.
2. Install or connect the following:
   
   
   Air conditioning condenser to radiator, if equipped and torque the screws to 45 inch lbs. (5 Nm)

   Air conditioning line support bracket and attaching screw to right side of radiator.

   Engine block heater wire, if equipped.

   Lower radiator hose and clamp.

   External transmission oil cooler line support bracket and attaching screw to left side of radiator, if equipped

   Automatic transmission hoses and tighten the hose clamps

   Fan module.

   Fan motor electrical connection.

   Upper radiator hose. Align hose so it does not interfere with the accessory drive belt or engine. Position hose clamp so it will not interfere with the hood liner.

   Upper radiator crossmember.

   Negative cable to auxiliary jumper terminal.
3. Fill cooling system with coolant.
4. Operate engine until it reaches normal operating temperature. Check cooling system and automatic transmission for correct fluid levels.

Replace Dodge Sprinter Engine Cooling Fan?

1. Drain the cooling system.
2. Remove the headlights.
3. Remove the front crossmember together with front grille.
4. Remove the front bumper.
5. Remove the bolts holding the air charge hose to the sheet metal and intercooler.
6. Detach the air intake pipe at the body.
7. Detach both coolant hoses at the coolant reservoir.
8. Unplug the wiring connector at the coolant level sensor.
9. Detach the coolant hose at bottom right of radiator.
10. Detach the transmission cooler lines from the radiator.
11. Remove the left and right radiator trim.
12. Remove the radiator fan. For additional information, refer to the following section, "Engine Fan, Removal & Installation.-
13. Remove the bolts securing the intercooler to the radiator.
14. Remove the screws and upper radiator trim from the radiator.
15. Move the condenser/intercooler/power steering cooler assembly forward.
16. Lift the radiator assembly up and out of the rubber grommets.

To install:

1. Install the radiator assembly into the rubber grommets.
2. Install both right and left side radiator trim panels.
3. Attach the transmission cooler lines.
4. Attach the coolant hose to the bottom right of the radiator.
5. Attach both power steering hydraulic lines.
6. Connect the coolant level sensor electrical connector.
7. Connect the coolant hoses to the coolant reservoir, radiator and water pump.
8. Attach the air intake pipe to the body.
9. Attach the charge air hose to the air intake.
10. Attach the charge air hose to the turbocharger.
11. Install the A/C condenser.
12. Install the front bumper.
13. Install front end crossmember.
14. Refill the power steering reservoir to the correct level.
15. Refill the transmission to the correct level.
16. Refill the cooling system to the correct level.
17. Start the engine and check for leaks.
