G5 Control Panel Removal?

Please note the details mentioned here Covers All U.S. And Canadian Models Of Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5  car models.

In this chapter the HVAC control panel removal procedure is mentioned.
The details are as follows:-----


  1. Remove the Instrument Panel (I/P) center trim panel (1) by pulling out on the trim panel in order to release the retaining fasteners (2).
  2. Disconnect the electrical connectors on the Instrument Panel (I/P) center trim panel (1).

  3. Remove the HVAC control panel screws.
  4. Remove the HVAC control panel (module) assembly.
    NOTE
    The HVAC control connector and the radio connector can be interchanged by mistake. Mark or place tape on the connector to avoid accidental interchange.
  5. Disconnect the HVAC control panel assembly electrical connectors.

To install:
  1. Connect the HVAC control panel assembly electrical connectors.
  2. Install the HVAC control panel (module) assembly.
  3. Install the HVAC control panel screws. Tighten the screws to 19 inch lbs. (2 Nm).
  4. Connect the electrical connectors on the I/P center trim panel (1).
  5. Install the I/P center trim panel (1) by pressing in on the trim panel in order to attach the retaining fasteners (2).

How To Replace HVAC Auxiliary Control Panel on Cadillac?

The details mentioned will work For Cadillac CTS and DTS car models.

Auxiliary control panel replacing procedure is as follows:-----

  1. Remove the Instrument Panel (I/P) accessory trim plate.
  2. Remove the HVAC control module assembly screws.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the HVAC control module assembly.

To install:
  1. Connect the electrical connectors to the HVAC control module assembly.
  2. Install the HVAC control module assembly into the I/P.
  3. Install the HVAC control module assembly screws. Tighten the screws to 17 inch lbs. (1.9 Nm).
  4. Install the I/P accessory trim plate.
  5. Reprogram the HVAC control module.
  6. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  7. Using a flat-bladed tool, carefully pry out on the top of the HVAC control-auxiliary.
  8. Remove the HVAC control-auxiliary from the center console.
  9. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  10. Remove the HVAC control-auxiliary.

To install:
  1. Connect the HVAC control-auxiliary electrical connector.
  2. Install the HVAC control-auxiliary in the console bottom first.
  3. Push in at the top of the HVAC control-auxiliary in order to engage the HVAC control -auxiliary in the console.
  4. Reprogram the HVAC control-auxiliary.
