How to replace Oil Pressure Sensor on 2003 Ford Focus?


Oil Pressure Sensor


Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2. Disconnect battery negative cable from battery and properly isolate to prevent accidental reconnection.
  3. Raise the vehicle.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil pressure sender.
  5. Remove the oil pressure sender.

To install:
  1. Apply pipe sealant with Teflon® to the sender threads.
  2. Install the sensor and tighten to 11 ft. lbs (15 Nm)
  3. Reconnect sensor electrical connector.
  4. Reconnect negative battery cable.

  5. Remove the oil pressure sender.
