Accessory Drive Belts Removal on Chevrolet Canyon And GM Colorado?

Chevrolet Canyon And  GM Colorado Accessory drive belt removal procedure.

In this chapter the drive belt replacing procedure is provided.

Adjustment Procedure for serpentine belt/Drive belt:---
Drive belt tension is automatically adjusted by the drive belt tensioner.

Inspection Details for Drive Belt:-----

Inspect the drive belt for signs of glazing or cracking. A glazed belt will be perfectly smooth from slippage, while a good belt will have a slight texture of fabric visible. Cracks will usually start at the inner edge of the belt and run outward. All worn or damaged drive belts should be replaced immediately.

Removal & Installation Procedure for Drive belt

  1. Install a 3/8 inch breaker bar into the drive belt tensioner and rotate the tensioner clockwise, enough to relieve the tension on the drive belt.
  2. Slide the drive belt from the water pump pulley.
  3. Allow the drive belt tensioner to return to the relaxed position.
  4. Remove the drive belt from the remaining pulleys.
To install:
  1. Route the drive belt over all the pulleys, excluding the water pump pulley.
