ECT means Engine Coolant Temperature.
Please Note that this Procedure Covers all U.S. and Canadian models of the Chrysler/Dodge Avenger, Chrysler Sebring Coupe and Dodge Stratus/ Stratus Coupe models for Year 1999 to 2005.
The procedure here mentioned is for 2.4L Engine and 2.7L Engine models.
Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacing and Helpful diagrams are as follows:-----
2.4L Engine
The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is threaded into the thermostat housing just below the coolant outlet connector. The ECT sensor is a negative thermal coefficient sensor.

2.7L Engines
The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor is threaded into the coolant outlet connector. The ECT sensor is a negative thermal coefficient sensor.
