Power Rack & Pinion Steering Gear Replacing Details for 2005 Dodge Ram?

The basic Procedure to replace Power steering rack and Procedure to replace pinion Steering Gear.

The Procedure mentioned Covers Dodge Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 2WD & 4WD. Its For 2001 – 2005 Year Models.

Remove or disconnect the following:

• Front wheels
• Skid plate, if equipped
• Outer tie rod ends
• Steering shaft coupler. Discard the pinch bolt.
• Power steering hoses
• Steering gear

To install:
Install or connect the following:

• Steering gear. Tighten the bolts to 235 ft. lbs. (319 Nm).
• Power steering hoses. Tighten the pressure line fitting to 23 ft. lbs. (32 Nm); return line to 52 ft. lbs. (71 Nm)
• Steering shaft coupler. Tighten the bolt to 36 ft. lbs. (49 Nm).
• Outer tie rod ends. Tighten the nuts to 45 ft. lbs. (61 Nm).
• Front wheels
