How to Replace Blower Motor on Cadillac CTS & DTS Models?

In this section the blower motor replacing procedure is mentioned for both under the glove box  and Auxiliary blower motor replacing.

The Procedure is similar for both CTS and DTS car models.

Auxiliary Blower Motor replacing Procedure:----

  1. Remove the floor console.
  2. Disconnect the auxiliary blower assembly electrical connectors.
  3. Remove the 3 auxiliary temperature actuator screws.
  4. Remove the auxiliary temperature actuator.
  5. Remove the 3 auxiliary blower motor assembly screws.
  6. Remove the blower motor assembly.
  7. Remove the 3 auxiliary blower motor screws.
  8. Remove the auxiliary blower motor.
  9. Remove the auxiliary temperature actuator mode cam screw.
  10. Remove the auxiliary temperature actuator mode cam.
  11. Remove the 2 auxiliary temperature actuator mode cam Levers
  12. Remove the left and right blower housing.
  13. Remove the blower housing temperature door.

To install:
  1. Install the blower housing temperature door.
  2. Install the left and right blower housing.
  3. Install the 2 auxiliary temperature actuator mode cam Levers
  4. Install the auxiliary temperature actuator mode cam.
  5. Install the auxiliary temperature actuator mode cam screw. Tighten to 9 inch lbs. (1 Nm).
  6. Install the auxiliary blower motor.
  7. Install the 3 auxiliary blower motor screws. Tighten to 9 inch lbs. (1 Nm).
  8. Install the blower motor assembly.
  9. Install the 3 auxiliary blower motor assembly screws. Tighten to 9 inch lbs. (1 Nm).
  10. Install the auxiliary temperature actuator.
  11. Install the 3 auxiliary temperature actuator screws. Tighten to 9 inch lbs. (1 Nm).
  12. Reconnect the auxiliary blower assembly electrical connectors.
  13. Install the floor console.

Under the Glove Box Blower Motor Replacing Procedure:----

  1. Remove the right closeout insulator panel.
  2. Remove the glove box.
  3. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
  4. Disconnect the blower motor processor electrical connector.
  5. Remove the screws that retain the blower motor.
  6. Remove the air inlet housing bolts to gain clearance for the blower motor.
  7. Remove the blower motor.
To Install:
  1. Install the blower motor.
  2. Install the blower motor screws and tighten to 13 inch lbs. (1.5 Nm).
  3. Install the air inlet housing bolts and tighten to 53 ft. lbs. (6 Nm).
  4. Connect the blower motor processor electrical connector.
  5. Connect the blower motor electrical connector.
  6. Install the glove box.
  7. Install the right closeout insulator panel.
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2. Remove the right hand closeout insulator panel.
  3. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
  4. Remove the 3 screws that retain the blower motor.
  5. Remove the blower motor.

To install:
  1. Install the blower motor.
  2. Install the 3 blower motor screws and tighten to 9 inch lbs. (1 Nm).
  3. Connect the blower motor electrical connector.
  4. Install the right closeout insulator panel.
