8.0L Engine Crankshaft Damper Removal?

The Procedure mentioned Covers Dodge Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 2WD & 4WD. Its For 2001 – 2005 Year Models.

Dodge RAM 8.0L Crankshaft damper balancer removal.

8.0L Engine

NOTE

Special Tools 8513 and 1026, or equivalents, are required.

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the accessory belt.
3. Remove the fan.
4. Drain the cooling system. Remove the radiator.
5. Remove the crankshaft pulley/damper bolt and washer from the crankshaft.
6. Using the special tool, remove the damper from the crankshaft.

To install:

1. Reverse the removal procedure.
2. Tighten the pulley/damper bolt to 230 ft. lbs. (312 Nm).
