Accessory Drive Belts
Removal & Installation
2.0L (VIN N) & 2.3L (VIN Z) Engine
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
- With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
- Remove the splash shield
- Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner.
- Remove the accessory drive belt.
To install:
- Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner.
- Route the drive belt.
- Slowly release the tensioner
- Reinstall the splash shield.
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
- Disconnect battery negative cable from battery and properly isolate to prevent accidental reconnection.
- Raise the vehicle with the transaxle in NEUTRAL
- Remove the splash shield
- Lower the vehicle.
- Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner using a 3/8-inch drive breaker bar.
- Remove the accessory drive belt.
To install:
- Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner with a 3/8-inch drive breaker bar.
- Route the drive belt.
- Slowly release the tensioner
- Raise the vehicle with the transaxle in NEUTRAL.
- Reinstall the splash shield.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Reconnect the negative battery cable.
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
- Disconnect battery negative cable from battery and properly isolate to prevent accidental reconnection.
- Raise the vehicle with the transaxle in NEUTRAL
- Remove the splash shield
- Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner.
- Remove the accessory drive belt.
To install:
- Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner.
- Route the drive belt.
- Slowly release the tensioner
- Reinstall the splash shield.
- Reconnect the negative battery cable.
