General Information

2.0L (VIN 3, VIN 5, VIN N) And 2.3L (VIN Z) Engines

These engines are not equipped with rocker arms. The camshafts act directly on the valves.

Removal & Installation

2.0L (VIN P) Engine

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
2. Remove or disconnect the following:
   
   NOTE

   Keep all valve train components in order for assembly.
   
   
   
   
   Negative battery cable

   Valve cover
   
   
   
   
   Rocker arm bolts

   Rocker arms and seats

To install:

1. Install or connect the following:
   
   
   Seats and rocker arms in their original positions

   Rocker arm bolts. Tighten to 17-22 ft. lbs. (23-30 Nm).

   Valve cover

   Negative battery cable
