Replacing AC Compressor on Ford E series Vans?

The details to replace AC Compressor on Ford E series Vans is as follows:----


Removal & Installation
4.6L, 5.4L & 6.8L ENGINES
6.0L ENGINE

4.6L, 5.4L & 6.8L Engines

Specific to:

Ford E-150 2008-2009

Ford E-250 2008-2009

Ford E-350 Super Duty 2008-2009

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
2. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
3. Properly recover the A/C refrigerant.
4. Remove the lower engine splash shield, if equipped.
5. Remove the accessory drive belt from the A/C compressor pulley.
6. Disconnect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
7. Disconnect the clutch field coil electrical connector and position the wire harness aside.
8. Completely loosen the A/C compressor bolts and position the A/C compressor to allow access to the fitting nuts.
9. Remove the A/C compressor fitting nuts and disconnect the fittings.
10. Installation is the reverse order of removal. Tighten the A/C compressor mounting bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).

6.0L Engine

Specific to:

Ford E-350 Super Duty 2008-2009

1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
2. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
3. Properly recover the A/C refrigerant.
4. Remove the accessory drive belt from the A/C compressor pulley.
5. Remove the wiring harness stud.
6. Remove the A/C compressor mounting bolts.
7. Disconnect the clutch field coil electrical connector.
8. Remove the right hand front wheel.
9. Loosen the compressor manifold bolt and detach the compressor manifold and tube assembly. Discard the O-ring seals.
10. Remove the A/C compressor.
11. Installation is the reverse order of removal. Tighten the A/C compressor mounting bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
