The Procedure for 3.5L Engine replacing.
The Procedure starts here:---
- 3.5L Engine
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Drain the cooling system.
- Drain the engine oil.
- Drain the power steering fluid.
- Remove the air intake assembly.
- Remove the grill.
- Remove the headlight trim panel.
- Raise and safely support the vehicle.
- Remove the license plate holder and step grip plate.
- Remove the front fascia assembly.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Drain the power steering fluid from the power steering fluid reservoir.
- Disconnect the power steering fluid lines.
- Disconnect the A/C pressure sensor.
- Remove the condenser line bolt.
- Remove the condenser lines.
- Remove the transmission cooler lines from the radiator.
- Remove the heater hose lines from the extension line.
- Remove the upper and lower radiator hoses.
- Match-mark the radiator support location on the frame.
- Disconnect the electric fan connector.
- Remove the cooling module assembly.
- Disconnect the canister purge lines and position aside.
- Disconnect the fuel lines.
- Disconnect the fuel lines at the fuel rail.
- Disconnect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connectors and remove the PCM
- Remove the transmission dip stick mounting bolts.
- Disconnect the engine ground strap.
- Disconnect the coolant level sensor.
- Raise and safely support the vehicle.
- Remove the torque converter bolts.
- Disconnect the oxygen sensor connectors at the connector bracket.
- Remove the bolts from the right and left exhaust flange.
- Remove the starter. For additional information, refer to the following section, "Starter, Removal & Installation.-
- Disconnect the alternator electrical connectors.
- Remove all but the top bell housing bolt.
- Remove the left motor mount bolt.
- Remove the left motor mount bolt.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Support the transmission with a suitable jack.
- Install a suitable engine lift to the engine.
- Remove the last bellhousing bolt.
- Remove the engine assembly from the vehicle.
- Using an engine lift, lower the engine assembly into the vehicle.
- Install a single bell-housing bolt and tighten to 28 ft. lbs. (38 Nm).
- Install the right motor mount bolt and tighten to 42 ft. lbs. (58 Nm).
- Install the left motor mount bolt and tighten to 42 ft. lbs. (58 Nm).
- Remove the jack supporting the transmission assembly and remove the engine lift.
- Connect the alternator electrical connector.
- Install the remaining bellhousing bolts and tighten to 28 ft. lbs. (38 Nm).
- Install the torque converter bolts and tighten to 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).
- Install the starter motor.
- Install the bolts for the left and right exhaust flanges and tighten to 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
- Connect the oxygen sensor electrical connectors.
- Install the front lower sound shield.
- Connect the coolant level sensor.
- Connect the engine ground strap.
- Install the transmission dipstick mounting bolts.
- Install the PCM and connect the electrical connectors.
- Connect the fuel lines to the fuel rail.
- Connect the canister purge lines.
- Connect the electric fan connector.
- Install the radiator support. Make sure the radiator support location lines up with the marks made on the frame during the removal process.
- Install the upper and lower radiator hose.
- Install the heater hose lines to the extension line.
- Install the transmission cooler lines to the radiator.
- Install the condenser lines.
- Connect the A/C pressure sensor.
- Connect the power steering fluid lines.
- Install the front fascia assembly.
- Install the license plate holder and step grip plate.
- Install the head lamp trim panel.
- Install the grill assembly.
- Install the air intake assembly.
- Refill the engine with oil to the correct level.
- Refill the power steering system with fluid to the correct level.
- Refill the cooling system to the correct level.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Start the engine and check for leaks.
