The details for 2.7 Liter Capacity ENGINE replacing is as follows:---
- Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
- Drain the engine oil.
- Drain the cooling system.
- Recover the A/C refrigerant.
- Remove or disconnect the following:
Negative battery cableThrottle body air inlet hoseAir cleaner assemblyBoth front wheels and splash shieldsLower front fascia from the crossmemberLower air shield from the crossmemberFront fasciaUpper radiator crossmemberUpper and lower radiator hosesTransmission oil cooler linesA/C lines from the condenserRadiator, fan and A/C condenserTransmission electrical harness connectorsTransmission shift cableEngine electrical harness from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and bulkhead connectorsAntilock Brake System (ABS) brake module from the lower radiator crossmemberBrake line from the lower radiator crossmemberBoth halfshaftsFront engine mount through boltFront engine mount from the lower radiator crossmemberLower radiator crossmemberDrive beltsPower steering pump and bracket. Do not disconnect the linesHeater return hose from the right front frame railA/C compressor electrical connectors and reposition the compressorStructural collarExhaust system cross under pipeRear engine mount and transaxle bracketTorque converter housing cover and match mark the boltsPositive battery cable from the Power Distribution Center (PDC)Ground cable from the left side transaxle mount bracketThrottle and speed control cablesCoolant overflow hoseHeater hoseGround strap from the right shock towerFuel linesBrake booster and vacuum purge hosesEngine ground straps - Loosen the cradle engine mounts and lower the engine/transmission assembly onto the dolly.
- Remove the vertical engine mount bolts
- Slowly raise the vehicle and make certain that the cradle is positioned properly.
- Secure the engine/transmission assembly to the cradle and remove the assembly.
To install:
- Position the engine/transmission assembly under the vehicle and slowly lower the vehicle into position.
- Continue to the lower the vehicle until the right side engine mount and left side transaxle mount are properly aligned.
- Install or connect the following:
Mounting bolts and torque them to 45 ft. lbs. (61 Nm).Raise the vehicle and remove the cradleEngine ground strapsBrake booster and vacuum purge hosesFuel linesGround strap to the right shock towerHeater hoseCoolant overflow hoseThrottle and speed control cablesGround cable to the left transaxle mount bracketPositive battery cable to the PDCTorque converter bolts and coverRear engine mount and transaxle bracketExhaust system cross under pipeStructural collarA/C compressor to the bracketA/C compressor clutch electrical connectorsHeater return hose to the right side frame railPower steering pump and bracketDrive beltsLower radiator crossmemberFront engine mount to the lower radiator crossmemberBoth halfshaftsBrake line to the lower radiator crossmemberABS module to the lower radiator crossmemberEngine electrical harness to the PCM and bulkhead connectorsTransmission shift cableTransmission electrical harness connectorsRadiator, fan and A/C condenserA/C lines to the condenserTransmission oil cooler linesUpper and lower radiator hosesUpper radiator crossmemberFront bumper fascia and lower air shieldSplash shields and both front wheelsAir cleaner assembly and throttle body air inlet hoseNegative battery cable - Fill the engine with clean oil and replace the filter.
- Fill the cooling system to the proper level.
- Recharge the A/C system with the proper refrigerant.
- Start the vehicle, check for leaks and repair if necessary.
