Procedure to replace Dodge Sprinter Thermostat?

The details to remove / install Thermostat on dodge Sprinter.

The Procedure is similar for 2.7L, 3.0L and 3.5L Engine models.

Thermostat replacing is as follows:---

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the cooling system.
3. Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor wiring harness.
4. Detach the air intake hose at the charge air distribution pipe.
5. Detach the coolant hoses at the thermostat housing.
6. Unscrew the cap of the oil filter housing.
7. Remove the thermostat housing and thermostat.

To install:

1. Clean the mounting surface of any gasket material.
2. Install the thermostat and thermostat housing with a new gasket. Tighten the mounting bolts to 80 inch lbs. (9 Nm).
3. Install the cap at the oil filter housing.
4. Connect the coolant hoses.
5. Attach the air intake hose to the charge air distribution pipe.
6. Connect the wiring harness.
7. Refill the cooling system to the correct level.
8. Connect the negative battery cable.
9. Start the engine and check for leaks.
