How to Replace Control Panel On Dodge Sprinter?

The complete procedure to replace HVAC control panel on Dodge Sprinter.

The A/C control panel removal.Heater control panel removal.
Instrument panel replacing.
Automatic temp control replacing.
Manual temp control replacing.

All details are mentioned here.
The procedure is as follows:---



When equipped with the rear A/C system, the controls for the A/C system are located in the front A/C-heater control in the center of the instrument panel. The controls for the rear A/C system are:


a push button for manually increasing fan speed.
a rotary control knob for rear temperature control.
a push button for manually decreasing fan speed and turning the rear A/C system off. indicator lamps which illuminate to reflect when the rear A/C system is on and the selected fan speed.
a push button air recirculation control. An indicator lamp illuminates when the button is pressed.

The rear A/C controls are diagnosed using a scan tool.
The rear A/C controls cannot be repaired and the front A/C-heater control must be replaced as an assembly if inoperative or damaged.

Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) &

Manual Temperature Control (MTC)


  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the center bezel from the instrument panel .
  3. Remove the four screws that secure the A/C-heater control to the instrument panel.
  4. Carefully pull the A/C-heater control straight out from the instrument panel.
  5. Disengage the cable retaining tab and disconnect the blend door control cable from the rear of the A/C heater control.
  6. Using a pick or other small bladed tool, disengage the wire harness connector lock.
  7. Disconnect the wire harness connectors from the back of the A/C-heater control and remove the control from the vehicle.
To install:
  1. Position the A/C-heater control to the instrument panel.
  2. Connect the wire harness connectors to the back of the A/C-heater control and engage the connector lock. Make sure the connector lock is fully engaged.
  3. Connect the blend door cable to the rear of the A/C heater control and engage the cable retaining tab. If necessary, rotate the cable slightly to align the spline on the cable with the receptacle in the control. Make sure the retaining tab is fully engaged to the control.
  4. Install the A/C-heater control into the instrument panel while simultaneously connecting the mode control cable to the mode door cam located at the rear of the HVAC housing. If necessary, rotate the cable slightly to align the spline on the cable with the receptacle in the cam.
  5. Install the four screws that secure the A/C-heater control to the instrument panel. Tighten the screws to 17 inch lbs. (2 N·m).
  6. Install the instrument panel center bezel.
  7. Reconnect the negative battery cable.

FOR AUTOMATIC CONTROL:--
If replacing the A/C-heater control, initiate the Actuator Calibration function using a scan tool.
