Dodge Durango and Chrysler Aspen Front Blend Door Actuator Removal?

The complete procedure to replace Blend Door Actuator.
The procedure mentioned here is for both Dodge and Chrysler car models.

NOTE

The blend door actuator cannot be adjusted or repaired and, if damaged or faulty, must be replaced. After installation the new actuator must be calibrated using a scan tool.

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the instrument panel assembly.
3. Remove the screws that secure the blend door actuator to the top of the HVAC housing.
4. Disconnect the HVAC wire harness connector from the blend door actuator.
5. Remove the blend door actuator from the HVAC housing.

To install:

1. Position the blend door actuator onto the top of the HVAC housing. If necessary, rotate the actuator slightly to align the splines on the actuator output shaft with those on the blend-air door linkage.
2. Install the screws that secure the blend door actuator to the HVAC housing. Tighten the screws to 2 Nm (17 inch lbs.).
3. Connect the HVAC wire harness connector to the blend door actuator.
4. Install the instrument panel assembly.
5. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
6. Calibrate actuator function using a scan tool.
