Oil Pressure Sensor
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
Testing Oil pressure sensor:----
- Check the oil level and correct as necessary. Turn the ignition switch on, but do not start the engine.
- Disconnect the sensor lead at the sensor. The gauge should read full scale.
- Ground the connector. The gauge should read at the bottom of the scale.
- If the gauge functions properly, replace the sensor.
Removal & Installation
4.8L, 5.3L, 6.0L & 6.2L Engines
- If necessary, remove the engine sight shield.
- Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
- Using J 41712 or equivalent, remove the oil pressure sensor.
To install:
- Apply sealant to the threads of the oil pressure sensor.
- Using J 41712 or equivalent, install the oil pressure sensor.
- Tighten the oil pressure sensor to 26 ft. lbs. (35 Nm).
- Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
- If necessary, install the engine sight shield.
- Remove the engine sight shield.
- Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
- Using J 41712 or equivalent, remove the oil pressure sensor.
To install:
- Apply sealant to the threads of the oil pressure sensor.
- Using J 41712 or equivalent, install the oil pressure sensor.
- Tighten the sensor to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
- Connect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
- Install the engine sight shield.
